Transparent methodology

What the result includes—and what it does not

Updated SolveKit editorial review — browser image processing QA

Built for sellers and applicants preparing photos for classified ads, job applications and strict forms with a 50 KB upload cap.

Calculation method

  1. 1Each JPG, PNG, or WebP image is decoded locally and redrawn to a fresh browser canvas; no file leaves the device.
  2. 2The compressor searches for the highest output quality under the 50 KB ceiling, reducing dimensions progressively only when quality adjustment is not enough.
  3. 3Batches of any size run in parallel Web Workers; results download individually or as one ZIP with per-file size reports.

Assumptions and limits

  • 50 KB is a maximum per file; the tool never exceeds it for a successful result.
  • Portrait photos at document size keep acceptable quality at 50 KB; wide landscape shots show more compression.
  • The new file omits the original embedded EXIF metadata, which also saves bytes.

Worked example

Listing photos for a classifieds site capped at 50 KB

Input: Eight product photos from a phone, target 50 KB, WebP output.

Output: Eight files under 50 KB in one ZIP, each with original and final size listed.

Frequently asked questions

Which formats can I load and export?

Load JPG, PNG or WebP; export as WebP or JPEG. WebP usually reaches 50 KB with visibly better quality than JPEG at the same byte count.

Does compressing to 50 KB remove my photo's location data?

The exported file is re-encoded without the original EXIF block, so GPS and camera metadata are not carried into the new file.

What if the form wants exactly 50 KB, not under?

Upload forms almost always enforce a maximum, and this tool guarantees the file stays under the limit you choose — which satisfies 'max 50 KB' checks.
