Transparent methodology

What the result includes—and what it does not

Updated SolveKit editorial review — image engine QA

Built for sellers and catalog managers renaming supplier photos to SKU-based names.

Calculation method

  1. 1You load photos plus a CSV that pairs current names with new names; matching works with or without file extensions, case-insensitively.
  2. 2The full mapping is previewed before anything downloads: matched, unmatched, and duplicate targets are labeled.
  3. 3Files are copied byte-for-byte under their new names into a ZIP — pixels are never re-encoded.
  4. 4Duplicate target names get a numeric suffix so no file silently overwrites another.

Assumptions and limits

  • The CSV needs at least two columns; the first row may be a header (detected automatically, adjustable).
  • Characters that are invalid in file names are replaced with hyphens.

Worked example

Supplier batch to SKU names

Input: 48 photos + a CSV mapping IMG_2041.jpg → SKU-1043-main.jpg.

Output: A ZIP with 48 renamed, untouched originals, plus a report of any unmatched rows.
