Transparent methodology
What the result includes—and what it does not
Built for teams releasing language or regional versions and checking their initial hreflang declarations.
Calculation method
- 1Read html language and every initial-HTML rel=alternate hreflang reference.
- 2Resolve language targets to absolute URLs and expose each page's detected language set in the URL Inspector.
- 3Cross alternate targets with crawled status, robots and canonical signals when those targets enter the checked scope.
Assumptions and limits
- Complete reciprocal-cluster validation needs every target to be included in the chosen crawl scope.
- The tool does not infer that two pages are accurate human translations.
- HTML, HTTP headers and sitemap are alternative declaration methods; the first release concentrates on HTML and discovered sitemap URLs.
Worked example
Spanish page pointing to a noindex English target
Input: An English/Spanish pair included in the same crawl.
Output: The language references in each URL Inspector plus the target's noindex issue and affected URL evidence.

How to use it
From public URL to verified release.
- 1Choose the release mission and declare whether the scope should be public.
- 2Keep the page open while respectful batches read public HTML and cross page signals.
- 3Export the evidence, deploy the fix, then load the project to verify the same scope.
Built for trust
Evidence without a false promise.
- No registration or paywall before your result.
- Only public URLs are fetched; HTML is not written into the project.
- Ready to ship describes the checked scope; it never guarantees indexing or ranking.
Frequently asked questions
How do I check hreflang tags across a website?
Crawl the domain or sitemap with every language version in scope. The tool resolves each alternate, lists language codes per URL and exposes the target's status, robots and canonical signals when crawled.
Does every hreflang page need a return link?
Google's documentation says alternate pages must link to each other, including themselves. A complete cluster check therefore needs every target URL inside the selected crawl scope.
Should translated pages canonicalize to the English page?
Normally each genuine language version remains canonical to itself and participates in the hreflang cluster. Canonicalizing all languages to one page can contradict the alternate-language intent.
