Transparent methodology
What the result includes—and what it does not
Built for uS eBay sellers testing a sale's fee and profit before listing.
Calculation method
- 1Seller revenue is the item price plus shipping charged to the buyer; tax collected is not treated as revenue.
- 2Estimated marketplace fee = (seller revenue + entered tax used as a fee basis) × entered fee rate + entered per-order and other fees.
- 3Estimated profit subtracts marketplace fees and the seller-entered product, shipping, and other costs from seller revenue.
Assumptions and limits
- eBay rates vary by category, Store plan, sale amount, seller performance, listing upgrades, advertising, and site.
- The defaults use 13.6% + $0.40 only as a starting point for a typical US category; replace them with the rates shown for the actual listing.
- Insertion fees, promoted-listing fees, refunds, and international fees are excluded unless entered in other fees or seller costs.
