Transparent methodology

What the result includes—and what it does not

Updated SolveKit editorial review — calculator QA

Built for merchants who need to reprice hundreds or thousands of Shopify products when the supplier's tariff changes.

Calculation method

  1. 1Costs are read from the supplier's column with locale-aware parsing (12,40 and 12.40 both work, currency symbols ignored) and each interpretation is shown before the run.
  2. 2Pricing rules preview on your real rows: the full chain — cost, markup, rounding, floor — is displayed for sample products before anything is generated.
  3. 3Every price change is listed with before, after and percentage in a filterable review; the file is only generated from that reviewed plan.

Assumptions and limits

  • Rounding to .95/.99 always rounds up, protecting the configured margin.
  • Prices with unreadable cost cells are skipped and listed in the report rather than guessed.
  • The output touches Variant Price only (plus identity columns); titles, images, SEO and collections are not in the file and therefore cannot change.

Worked example

A 5% supplier increase, passed through correctly

Input: The new tariff with 1,800 references at higher costs.

Output: 1,743 matched products repriced with ×1.4 and .95 endings, 57 unmatched references listed for review, one import-ready CSV.
