Transparent methodology

What the result includes—and what it does not

Updated SolveKit editorial review — calculator QA

Built for stores that resell a distributor's catalog and receive price lists by email — recambios, hardware, multi-brand fashion, dropshipping.

Calculation method

  1. 1Your store export and the supplier's file are matched by SKU or barcode with configurable normalization (case, leading zeros, dashes, spaces), and the match rate is shown live before anything else happens.
  2. 2New prices come from your rules — cost × markup or cost + amount, with .95/.99 endings always rounded up so the price never falls below cost × margin, plus an optional floor.
  3. 3The update file contains only identity columns plus Variant Price (and Variant Inventory Qty when you enable stock): Shopify keeps every value whose column is not in the file, and all variants of each touched product are included so none can be dropped.

Assumptions and limits

  • Prices and file contents are processed on this device and never uploaded; supplier cost lists are confidential business data and stay that way.
  • The inventory quantity column applies to single-location stores; the stock option therefore requires an explicit confirmation, and variants without inventory tracking are skipped and listed in the report.
  • The store export should be fresh: the file copies unchanged values verbatim from it, so an old export would write back old data for untouched cells.

Worked example

The weekly price list, applied in minutes

Input: A Shopify export (1,200 products) and the distributor's weekly Excel with 2,500 references and new costs.

Output: A review of 312 increases and 48 decreases, the discontinued and new-item lists, and an update CSV that changes prices and stock — and nothing else.

How to use it

  2. 2Review the input units and choose any relevant options.

  • No registration or paywall before your result.
  • Responsive controls for phone, tablet, and desktop.
  • Clear assumptions and warnings where estimates have limits.
